COMPETITION RULES - MONTHLY

The competition is open to paid members of the Warrington Photographic Society only. The digital competition is an Open category and there is no restriction on subject matter for the images .

Each member may submit an entry of up to three digital images.

The member submitting the digital images must be the author and the owner of their copyright for the entire image. Each image will be considered separately by the Judge.

Each image submitted can not have been entered in ANY WPS competition, monthly competition or annual competition previously irrespective of section or category.

The organisers (WPS) cannot accept responsibility for any data problems with CD/DVD or USB flash drive or format of image files. The entrant is responsible for ensuring their files and data are correctly formatted.

The images must be in their final file format as defined below. The Competition secretary will NOT perform any manipulation, resizing, or other alterations to the presented images, other than that required to place all of the entries into a single competition folder.

Digital images must not exceed 1400 pixels in width by 1050 pixels in height. Any image size smaller in either direction is acceptable. Images exceeding these dimensions will be rejected. Set the resolution to 72 DPI. Check out the Tutorial page Image Sizing.

Any image less than the maximum 1400 pixels wide by 1050 high in any direction, must have the unused area filled with black or dark grey.

The images should be submitted as a flattened 8-bit RGB or greyscale files in optimised jpeg format on CD or DVD discs or flash drive. Images in other formats such as PSD or images with layers will be rejected. Please ensure no other files or personal information is on your CD/Flash drive.

The image files are to be submitted in a folder named as 'Your Name' and images named in the pattern of: 1_Title, 2_Title, 3_Title, etc where 001 is the number of your image and title is the name or your image. This naming format is to facilitate the use of the DiCentra Competition Software. It is important that this is followed and image files not named in this pattern will be rejected. Please keep the titles to less than 50 characters including the number or they will not write to CD/DVD correctly.
